John Smith is an avid world traveler and photographer behind My Trending Travel blog. Since starting the blog in 2020, he has visited over 50 countries across 6 continents - seeking out unique destinations, hidden gems, outdoor adventures, and cultural experiences.
Originally from Australia, John caught the travel bug early on with family camping and road trips. He saved up money from odd jobs in high school to pay for his first backpacking trip across Europe at 18. Bitten by the travel bug, John worked hospitality jobs for the next 5 years that allowed him to travel and live abroad.
The focus of My Trending Travel is to showcase lesser-known destinations and inspiring travel stories coupled with practical budget travel tips. John draws on his extensive experience backpacking, hitchhiking, WWOOFing and working abroad to help make indie travel more accessible to others.
